How to share your NDIS plan with Plan Hero and why it’s important

Why is it important to share your NDIS plan?

When your Plan Hero Plan Manager can see your NDIS plan, they can:

  • Make sure you are spending on ‘allowed’ supports that are covered by the funding in your plan
  • Guide you on future spending by checking if it meets your funding types and periods
  • They can process invoices faster
  • They can help you budget more effectively – making sure your spending matches your funding periods

How can I share my NDIS plan?

There are 2 ways to share your NDIS plan with your Plan Hero Plan Manager:

  1. Forward the PDF version of your plan during your sign up or afterwards to support@planhero.com.au.
  2. Share Online Electronic Access to Your NDIS Plan Safely and Securely

1. Forward the PDF version of your plan

The NDIS emails you a copy of your NDIS plan – it is a PDF attached to an email.

Upload this file when you register or email it to support@planhero.com.au

IMPORTANT: Make sure you also forward the email from the NDIS if it contains any other planner notes about the supports that you have
IMPORTANT: Don’t forget to send your new plan when you get it!
TIP: Sending a PDF of your plan is very helpful to us as we save it to your profile and have it in front of us when you call us.

2. Share online electronic access to your NDIS Plan

Why sharing your Plan helps us do a better job

When Plan Hero has electronic access to your NDIS plan, we can:

  • Process invoices faster – We can quickly make sure your invoices match your plan’s funding
  • Help you manage your plan budget better – we can give you advice about what supports are covered by your plan and how much funding you have left
  • Keep you informed and build your independence – we can help you understand your supports and funding periods
  • Keep you safe – we can help you avoid incurring an NDIS debt or being changed to Agency Managed because you are “not spending in accordance with your NDIS plan.”

Here’s a real life example

Let’s say you have Capacity Building funding for Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy in your NEW NDIS plan. See sample below.

You spend your funding on Psychology because you had it in your last plan and haven’t realised it hasn’t been refunded.

If your Plan Manager doesn’t have a copy of your NEW NDIS plan, they might pay it because you have Capacity Building funding or you had funding for it before.

You are not funded for Psychology you are not spending in “accorance with your NDIS plan”.

The NDIS can:

  • Change your plan to Agency Managed or
  • Ask you to pay it back

Sharing your plan upfront avoids this stress.

Stated Supports

See this sample of a real NDIS plan that has STATED therapy supports. This means you can ONLY spend your funding on these services.
