Plan Hero was born out of a simple but powerful observation: too many NDIS participants and their families were feeling lost, unsupported, and let down by their plan managers.
 
Founders Bianca Shapiro and Nicole Gamerov had been deeply embedded in the NDIS sector since 2017, when they founded MyCareSpace – a platform built to help NDIS participants find and connect with the right disability service providers.
 
Through MyCareSpace, they spoke with participants and their families every single day. And day after day, they heard the same story – families navigating one of the most complex funding systems in the country, without anyone truly in their corner. Plan managers who didn’t know their name, didn’t return their calls, and didn’t have the knowledge to help them make the most of their funding.
 
So in 2021, they decided to do something about it.
They built Plan Hero around a single idea: every NDIS participant deserves a hero (yes, its corny but it had to be said).
 
Someone who has their back, listens to them, knows their situation, and brings the expertise to help them make smart, confident decisions with their NDIS funding.
 
Not a call centre. A real person who genuinely cares.
 
Today, Plan Hero is led by General Manager Kim McMurchy, whose expertise in operations and technology has shaped the systems and processes that allow our team to deliver fast, accurate, and reliable plan management at scale — without ever losing the personal touch that defines who we are.
 
We are proud to be an independent plan manager. That means our only focus is being the best plan manager we can be: making sure your plan works for you, your funding is protected, and your invoices are paid on time, every time.
