Is my NDIS provider banned in Australia?

If you are thinking about engaging with a new provider, it’s important to check if they have been banned or fined.
Why does this matter?
If you’re using a banned provider, your plan manager cannot legally pay the invoices. This situation could leave you without the supports you need.
Recently, two NDIS providers were banned:
- Former Jumpstart childcare operator Thomas Fanous banned from NDIS from working in the disability sector. He was found to have mistreated children, including force-feeding and strapping them in high chairs.

How to check if a provider is banned?
The NDIS Commission has provided an online directory of all NDIS Providers or individual Support Workers who have been given:
- banning orders
- compliance notices
- enforceable undertakings
- suspension of registration
- cancellation of registration
